Artist Adverts

This is Rihanna's magazine advert for her album 'Rated R'. Rihanna's name is displayed in large block capitals at the centre as it is a strong marketing point for the advert. The audience are immediately made aware who the advert is for. The image is strong and therefore it is able to be presented in black and white in order to bring some of the attention to the titles of two of the singles which are highlighted in red below. The use of black and white implies that the mood of the album could be quite dark and aggressive.

This is an advert for Jessie J's first album 'Who You Are'. The colours used in the advert black, white and gold are very simplistic yet bold. The audiences eyes are drawn again to the artist name 'Jessie J' which uses a strong font and is at the centre of the magazine. Jessie J's look in the advert is fearless and daring which is unusual and therefore quite interesting for the audience. The majority of the information for the album is presented seperately from the image so that the strength of the image is not lost.

This is an advert for Ellie Goulding's single - Lights. The advert here reflects the image of the artist, it is magical and carefree which is emphasises by the used of the lighting in her hair. Good comments by members in the music industry are displayed in the advert for the single which imply to the audience that it is a single worth buying and listening to.

This is an advert for Drake's album Take Care. The key points of sale in this advert are the artist's name and the date that the album is released. Less attempt is made to emphasize how good the album is which implies that Drake is an established artist, he already has a large fanbase so in order for the album to be successful this fanbase just needs to know when the album is available.
